Slandering Sanders

A friend of mine, whose name sounds ironically like the Chinese word for "wallet," is majoring in business English and plans to get a job in international trade as soon as he graduates next year. In the meantime, he works at one of the ubiquitous KFC franchises that dominate the downtown area of Dalian and every other city in China.

They pay him 5.6 yuan an hour. That's less than 75 cents.
Can you imagine working for such little money? I can't. I've been in China for a while, and even when I consider the lower cost of living I still can't believe that an intelligent, capable, ambitious college student could be payed so little. In all honesty, he'd be better off begging.
